Roofing Dumpster Rental in McAllen

Most one-layer asphalt roofs up to about 25 squares fit a 20-yard dumpster, which includes 3 tons. Smaller roofs fit a 15-yard. Shingles are heavy, so size your roofing dumpster by weight: squares times the weight per square on your bundle wrapper.

Book by 3 PM for guaranteed next-day delivery. Your driver texts or calls 20–30 minutes before arriving.

What size dumpster do I need for my roof?

For one layer of asphalt shingles at about 240 pounds per square, a 15-yard dumpster holds about 20 squares, a 20-yard about 25 squares and a 30-yard about 33 squares before reaching the included weight. Two layers cut each number roughly in half.

Assumes 80 lb bundles and 3 bundles per square. Use the weight on your own bundle wrapper; weights vary by brand and style.

How much does a roof's worth of shingles weigh?

Multiply your squares by the weight per square. If your shingles weigh 80 pounds per bundle and a square takes 3 bundles, one square weighs 240 pounds. A 25-square roof is 25 × 240 = 6,000 pounds, or 3 tons: exactly what a 20-yard dumpster includes.

Anything over the included weight is $75 per ton, by the exact pound. At 27 squares (6,480 lb), you'd be 0.24 ton over: $18.00. How weight is billed

Where should the roofing dumpster go?

Place the roofing dumpster as close to the roof edge your crew will tear off as the truck can reach, usually on the driveway. Our drivers set wood boards under the rollers to protect the concrete. Keep the path clear of parked cars and low wires on delivery day.

The law: if debris is dropped more than 20 feet outside the building's exterior walls, OSHA requires an enclosed chute (29 CFR 1926.252(a)). Roofing contractors should follow their own safety plan.

Tell us about the job and we'll match the size before anything is delivered.

Roofing dumpster questions

How big of a dumpster do I need for a roof?

For one layer of asphalt shingles at about 240 pounds per square, a 15-yard dumpster holds about 20 squares, a 20-yard about 25 squares and a 30-yard about 33 squares before the included tons run out.

How much do shingles weigh per square?

It depends on the brand and style, so check the bundle wrapper. A common example is 80 pounds per bundle and 3 bundles per square, or 240 pounds per square. A second layer roughly doubles the weight per square.

Can the dumpster be in place before my roofing crew arrives?

Yes. Book by 3 PM for guaranteed next-day delivery between 7 AM and 5 PM. Nobody needs to be home if the drop zone is clear.

Can I put roofing nails and underlayment in the dumpster?

Yes. Tear-off debris like shingles, felt, underlayment, flashing and nails can go in the dumpster with the shingles.

What if I need a second roofing dumpster?

Call when the first one is full and we'll swap it for an empty one. Each swap is a new flat-rate rental with its own 7 days and included tons.
